There were some major changes in the world of the Devil Wears Prada (aka magazines) today ... Edwina McCann, formerly editor at Harper's Bazaar, will become Australia's new Anna Wintour and take up the role of editor-in-chief at Vogue Australia.
McCann, who many many moons ago started her career at Vogue, will from July be responsible for the Vogue Australia brand across both print and digital mediums. "I started my career at Vogue and I am very excited about returning to work for the world's most powerful fashion media brand. The opportunities for this formidable brand online and in a social media landscape are endless and our future is very bright indeed." she said.
She will replace outgoing editor-in-chief Kristie Clements who has been in the role for 10 years. While rumours are rife that Clements was sacked from her role to make room for a "new generation", there are no arguments that Clements made a significant contribution to Vogue and the Australian magazine market.
But the big question on everyone's lips is who will now replace McCann as editor at Harper's Bazaar? Has anyone checked out seek.com yet, we ask?
